Well I just put in coolant about a week ago into my 97 LS. I filled it up all the way to the marking that read "MAX" and a week later its all the way to the bottom that reads "LOW". I constantly have to keep refilling for more coolant. Also, the motor gets very hot, any ideas on the problem?
It's either leaking it or burning it. could be a few things. If your run your car with the radiator cap off do you notice any bubbling? Do your spark plugs show any indication of burning coolant or does your exhaust smell like you are burning coolant, white smoke maybe?
Could be head gasket. Check oil to see if it's discolored, also take oil cap off and see if it's got chocolate milk goop on it. Could also be leaking, you can go to autozone and get a loan a tool to check it while the car isn't running but is warm.

I don't think its leaking. I had this problem when I first got the car and the hoses blew. But I replaced them and they were fine. It does however smell like the oil is burning =/ I'll try running the car with the cap off to see anything. No white smoke or exhaust smelling however. I'll also try to check the oil cap also, thanks guys.
Are you filling the radiator or just the overflow??? You're supposed to fill the radiator... That tank is just an expansion overflow tank... Yea, you can keep a little in the tank but basically its for overflow when the coolant gets hot and expands...

^OHHHHH, yeah no one ever told me that. -_- They just said to fill the tank nothing about the radiator. I should do a complete radiator flush then?
I'd fill the overflow to bout half way, and top off the radiator and LEAVE THE CAP OFF, turn the car on and turn the heat on full blast, then turn the a/c on full blast and keep toppin it off... Let it run on a/c and heat for bout 10 min a piece... Some coolant may overflow out of the rad. due to it gettin hot... This is the backwoods method for bleeding the coolant system... They do make special funnels now that hook up to the radiator to keep it from over flowing...

So today I was driving about 20mph and I didnt realize there was a hump on the road. My car is pretty low and it just scraped the **** out of the road. I pull over and check underneath the car and see little drops of coolant =/ Now I have to jack up my car and see whats going on..
