Default just bought my first civic

whats up guys i just bought my first civic. its a 98 ex coupe with the d16y8 sohc vtec. it has 163,000 miles on it and has an aem short ram intake, apexi w2 catback exhaust, edelbrock short shifter, and adjustable coilovers. i was wondering what other mods i can do that are fairly cheap at the moment to get more hp. eventually i want to put a turbo on it or swap another motor in it but in the mean time i want to get the most hp out of it as possible.

Welcome.

Spend that money on suspension mods or anything else aesthetic. If you plan on doing a swap anything you put into that motor will be useless. If you are sure about going boost, I would suggest a cam and a tune or maybe some nitrous. Good luck.

OK wait...are you asking what do you have to do to a motor to boost it w/o a rebuild? ummm.... buy the necessary parts of a turbo kit and install, then tune.

Or are you asking what do you need in order to piece a turbo kit together? (search)

i was just saying that i dont want to put a turbo on and then somthing within the block break on me because all the people i know that have turbos on their cars have under 100,000 miles on a rebuilt motor.

you can boost that motor and be fine, as long as it was taken care of and you continue to take of it.
low boost maybe 180-200hp and a very good tune
