hi i just bought my 96 civic ex. i dont really want to swap engins so i was wondering how i could turn my d16y8 into a real scramer any tips are welcom and if you have reccomendations on websites to buy parts from plz let me know. plus if any one could tell me what the difference is between injen short ram and aem short ram intakes other than the price and name. thx

is that the only way to make my sohc faster. turbo costs a grip and i dont know if i boost this car is my block gonna die on me???

if u had a lighter vechile I would tell u to build the engine and go all motor.. but in that Boat your better off going turbo for cost effectiveness..but there are many options if u choose to just build the engine without forced induction.. If it was me I'd go SRR 4.9 or 4.7 FD... a lighter flywheel.. preferably 7-9lbs so either aluminum or chromoly... then maybe talk to gude or exospeed about a cam setup..and either run aftermarket pistons or OEM honda pistons (I forget which oem pistons gives u 11:1 CR.. or bore it out the block to 77mm.. now that would be a nice little package to run =P

id say build an all motor sohc..thats what id do..get I/H/E bore out the throttle body-port match the intake manifold-port polish the head-HC pistons-shot peen your stock rods-cam-cam gear-vafc-clutch-lighter flywheel-msd ignition-reprogrammed ECU-plugs-wires etc..this set-up would move for sure goodluck!

Depends what you think of as a screamer, my freind has dc 4-1 headers, short ram intake and a tanabe rm exhaust an a 55 shot of nitrous, he supposedly runs mid to high 14's not bad for a 4 door

And about all ram intakes are the same there isnt even much of a dif with a cai... maybe a few ponies but hey for less$$ its a good investment
