Default Innovate LC-1 installation issues

I have the blue and white wires going to a common ground, the red going to power, and the black going to the switch and the LED. Problem is when both black wires (one from the gauge, one from the controller) to the switch both the LED and the gauge just constantly blink very quickly. When I hook up only the black wire from the controller and leave the black wire from the gauge unhooked the LED blinks slowly and then turns constant but I have no light on the gauge. It's not doing anything that the manual says it's supposed to be doing and if I can't calibrate it and get it to work then it's worthless to me... Anyone have any insight?

Innovate.com... they have a good user group there.

Which gauge are you using with your LC-1, XD-16, DB, other?

The digital one which I think is the XD-16.
