Default f20b vs h22a

ok i have a jdm h22 swap in my 93 lude and i like it but...i was just seein opinions on a f20b swap because i was gonna do one in my other lude..does it make more or less power? is the h22a better or f20b? thanks!

Most F20B's come with automatics attached. Those are 180 HP. Manual is 200 HP.

Unless you find a manual one, which will cost ALOT since the tranny's LSD, you might as well get the H22A.

F20b has the same power but at a higher rpm, H22a has more torque as well.

well there is a guy from around here that had one in a hatchback that ran a h23 tranny! i know that you can use h series trannys on them so i was just gonna order a long block and use either my h23 or h22 tranny! but are you sure they are 180hp with a auto tranny and 200hp with a 5 spd.?

yEAH The Sir is Auto making 180 and the Sir-T is Manny making 200hp

only difference is the cams and intake mani. slap some type s cams, skunk2 mani and tb and you're good to go.

I was responding to the comments on the 20 horse power difference from auto to manual. I put down 192 on a dyno dynamics.... with just off shelf bolt on's and a crappy street tune. trap 99mph in a 3100lb accord. The f20b is a very capable engine.

The f-series engines also come with cast iron sleeves which may interest you if you are planning on putting forged pistons in at some point.

Now that you can buy a 434 SB Chevy crate motor......Why not?!?!

Look into the H23A if you're looking for a fun motor! Great powerband! more TQ and about 500rpms sooner than an H22A.
