Default obd1 conversion, solid cel, tried some things

im thinking its either somewhere in my distributor wiring or my ecu is toast.

setup is chipped p28, obd2 distributor that came on a jap b20b my friend got from an importer, b18a1 motor, 2.5 bar map sensor, turbo....

getting a solid cel. i tried burning a few different basemaps to see if it was my chip that was bad but they all do the same thing.

as for the distributor wiring i matched all the colors to wire it, gonna recheck that first but i was just wondering if the solid cel is a definate sign its the ecu?

is in limp mode as well but i think the 2 go hand in hand.

i did search a little just looking for some insight.

did you put a removable jumper in the ecu so you could run the stock base map? Otherwise, try another ecu.

I agree, look at the ECU first, solid CELs are a pretty good indication of something wrong with your eprom, proggy, etc.

Did you chip the ECU or did someone else? I'v seen cases where if someone soldered something incorrectly the ECU either fries itself or doesn't know what to do if the solder overlaps into another circuit on the board.

tried another stock ecu and no solid cel.

the story with my ecu is i bought it as "chipped". well everything was perfect when i popped it open except that my 28 pin dip socket wasnt soldered in it was just stuck in there so i soldered it in. it looks fine.

also im running crome and uberdata basemaps that im downloading from xenocrons bin depository. one problem could be that both my uberdata and crome programs give me error messages when i open then and all the roms ive tried ive opened with the programs first. im going to try to burn a map from a fresh download off xenos site and not open it with one of my faulty programs and if that doesnt work im guessing its my soldering job that is the culprit.
