It happened yesterday.
I was heading down the street and was trying to pass the intersection on a yellow. The car heading the other direction making a left saw me, hesitated then tried to still make the turn. I ended up hitting her, 17 year old girl driving an 05' lexus Ls430. Who is at fault? she said she had a green arrow.
I talked to a couple of people and they said she still should have yield. You have to wait till the intersection is clear correct? My girlfriends insurance company said the other drivers at fault for not yielding and not signaling, but I dont know if im in the wrong. What do you guys think?
here is a picture of the damage and my dumb ***. look at the shirt too. hahahha
The lexus i hit was very minor, just their front passenger side fender, front bumper and a hairline crack in their headlight. It was built like a tank.
UPDATE------------------
Just got the estimate back from the honda body shop. $5357 to fix the front end. Good thing about the repair is that iTs lifetime warranty.

She pulled out in front of you, her fault. But you trying to cross on yellow and beat the light = your fault as well.
I say it's mostly on her since the light wasn't red, she pulled out infront of you, and you have witnesses saying she should've yielded.

i had an incodent like this a while back, i got placed at fault cuz i was a young kid and she was old, even though i had a witness saying my light was yellow and hers was red, i took it to court got the ticket dropped but i was still out a car and eventually not knowing it my insurance paid for her car to get fixed and i didnt get ****. my insurance company never told me anything they said nothing would happen, but when i switched companys a year later they check my record and it came up that my insurance compay paid out 1500 dollars to the lady and raised my insurance rate.. thumbs up for getting ****ed by progressive!

OP, that sucks. Hopefully everything will work out in your favor

This happened to me a few years ago. Someone turned in front of me as I was going through a yellow. I wouldnt have been able to stop in time for the light anyway so I had to go through. It was their fault. Good luck with it.

My girl's insurance is paying for my girls car to get fixed right now. My girls insurance says im in the right but the other party's insurance says i was in the wrong. I'm 24, shes 17. I have more driving experience then her.
Even if she did have a green arrow, she still is suppose to yield until the intersection is clear. Its in the dmv handbook.
Plus she hesitated when turning, I was in the intersection and she saw me coming and stopped, then went, then stopped again in front of me. Plus her mom was talking to the insurance company the whole time and she wasent even at the accident and when she talked to insurance, she said "my daughter is in another accident again". Sounded like she just got out another one.
I don't know, this accident is bugging me. This accident happened at the worst time. My boss hassent paid me yet, I have rent due 5 days ago. 2 parking tickets on my bosses car almost due. Cell phone bill due and Registration due 15 days ago. I can't even drive my own EG hatch.

my mom got into the same kind of accident and she was at fault for not yielding. dont trip you are fine. it is the other persons fault. now it is time to find a shop that will hook you up with some JDM goodies with that insurance money
Next time pay more attention to those around you and if you see a yellow light then slow down and stop. Was it really necessary to make it through the light? the added minute to your commute could have been the difference between life and death. I know your ok but things could have been much worse. GL in the future.

Unless the light is malfunctioning, the opposite light is always RED when there is a GREEN arrow.
BTW what does that vanity plate mean?
It would not be 100% right of way, but I would suspect it should be the majority. Yellow means slow down and proceed with caution not fly through the light. So it could go 50/50 at worse or 75/25 your favor.
