2 questions about spoon and mugen brakes
Hey guys I have an eg hatch and I want to buy the spoon brake 4 pot calipers. The thing is im keeping it 4 lug and the calipers are made for the itr and the ctr. I wanted to know if anyone knows what to do to make the calipers fit for the 4 lug pattern? ive seen them on other hatches with 4 lug so i know it can be done, can someone please tell me how? Also i heard that the Mugen "active gate brake system" have the exact same specs as the stock ITR brake set up, is that correct? Thanks for the help guys.

if you want to run the Spoon's with your 4-lug, you will need the front knuckles from a civic that has a 10" rotor, stock. or you you can get DC2 front knuckles as well. this is only if your civic comes with the dinky 9" rotor (ie: cx,dx trim levels).
once you get that, the spoon caliper will bolt up directly, however you'll have to find some 11" rotors that are drilled for 4x100 bolt pattern. depending on the rotor, you may also need a spacer to center the rotor between the caliper. you may also need extended studs as well incase you have wheels that do not clear the spoon caliper.
The Mugen Active Gate brake system is an S2000 caliper if i recall. and the rotor is what makes that system 'special' since the vanes for cooling are specific to Mugen specs.

Thanks for the info i really appreciate it. Do you know anyone whos used the Mugen brake system on their car? Im curious to know how good the system is compared to other brakes out there like the Spoon's. Thanks again
There's a few guys in the ITR forum who have them or have run them. I THINK Spid5 uses them or has used them. you may want to PM him if you're curious.
I've only used the Spoons (and i'm still using them btw) other than stock calipers so i could only help you with my personal experience if you have any questions.
