P29's in a6?
bought me a set of p29's for my a6 a long time ago and am just now getting around to building it. Talked to a local tuner, and told me that the only way for him to tune my car would be to convert to obd1 or run stand alone. Both are a little out of my price range right now. Has anyone ran the p29's without a tune or is that just a bad idea. Maybe someone on here knows a tuner in the midwest that can tune obd0?
for a d-series fanpeople have ran p29 pistons in the a6 but it will run crappy without tune.
converting your car to obd1 isn't going to cost you a lot of cash, if you have a friend with a eg and they swapped their single cam out, ask for the dizzy, ecu and injectors as well as the o2 sensor too!
but yeah, you could find Plenty of info on w w w . d - s e r i e s . o r g
find a different tuner that can do OBD0.
OBD1 has more support out there for it as far as tuning goes, but there are people that have been in the game long enough that remember/know how to do OBD0.
Not sure why you got a P29 though. Any tune you do you will want to be chipped.

yea i know all what it takes to do the obd1 swap conversion harnes, dizzy, jumper harnes, p28ecu chiped, 4wire wideband 02, and can keep obdo injectors w/ resister box(without if obd1 injectors). But w/ all of that and the tune itself is over 1000 dollars, this is why i want know of a tuner in the midwest, mabey KC or OKC that would tune a obdo.
tune is 1000?
Why? Sounds like you are getting ripped!
OBD1 swap might run you $300 with really bad prices.
You don't necessarily need a P28 so that opens up some ECU choices to go with.
Don't need a wideband O2 either - tuner should have a wideband for use when he tunes.

tune is gona cost 600 with chip. So another 300 with obd1 swap, don't know if you are including parts w/ that 300. basicly the tuner told me 1200 to 1300 to get all done and back to me running corectly. It really is sad to see that my 130hp honda costing me this much to tune compared to my 420hp e36 m3 which only ran me 450. im really considering on a dohc zc obdo swap now
i had p29 pistons in my a6 in a CRX, I ran on 93 with them that being the only thing done and it ran just fine, not detonating or anything. Running stock Si ECU I know now it wasnt safe now that I know about tuning etc but it ran rather well tho.
If you get your obd0 ecu chipped Chris Harris at Xenocron still sends basemaps with turbo edit or BRE for obd0 ECUs
