Made a mistake.....
Replaced the radiator, as well as the thermostat. I was removing the thermostat but missed the bolt underneath and removed the housing. Haynes manual said it sometimes gets stuck so that it was why I didn't think anything of it.
Got it off. It ripped off part of where the bolt goes through the thermostat flange and into the other piece. The thermo housing/flange is fine, but the piece it mates with is not good.
I am leaking coolant. What is the piece called? It has the bleeder valve on it.
Any idea the $ to get it installed or price of the piece?
I have tried fixing it w/ high temp rtv but its hard to get to.
I know stupid mistake, please just give me advice.

Thermostat housing. Wish I had a dollar for every home wrencher who has broken one and called me up for a used replacement . . .
It's an easy change.
I hope for your sake that you used an OEM Honda thermostat. Fuji Thompson, Nippon Thermostat, and Tama Enterprises are the only brands that actually work.
Throw away the Haynes manual and get a Helm factory service manual.

Yes, I used a Honda thermostat! Have you replaced one on a 5th gen Accord? The space is so limited and it looks like there are hoses which I cannot see underneath is making me question how I can hook them back up?
I will have to drain the coolant again, correct?
I am guessing Honda wont have one in stock.....I also am going to replace the piece that mates with it (#6), would one from Autozone be okay?

I'd suggest pulling one at an import salvage yard. Your local dealer may or may not stock them; chances are that they don't but it's worth a phone call. Honda can usually get parts delivered in 1-2 days. Both pieces new will total around $39.
You don't really have to drain all the coolant. It makes less of a mess by doing so though, and since it's all new, you can just pour it right back in.

hmmm, alright well i'll look into it.
I hope they have one in stock. I just get really nervous about bleeding the coolant for fear of air getting in the system and warping the head.
But getting it out, and hooking everything back together isnt hard, even with little room? Wont I also have to get other gaskets for the other pieces?
