The seats are different, resulting in a significantly smaller contact area, making it unsafe. That is a huge reason why it shouldn't work.

NO MAKE SENSE! Studs have nothing to do with it, it's about the shape of the seat on the lug nut.
Don't use oem ball seat lug nuts with aftermarket wheels. Aftermarket wheels need a conical seat lug nut to properly torque or else they will loosen up under extreme heat.

Doesn't always take extreme heat either.
I torqued down a set of aftermarket lugs on a set of OEM GSR Blades @ 75 ft-lbs (forgot my damn OEM lugs), went through tech, drove 4 blocks to Jack in the Box and back, put the car in grid, and noticed 6 of 16 lug nuts were loose while checking tire pressures... Cursed, a lot, and then put the crappy street tires back on (aftermarket wheels) so I could run that day with the nuts I did have.
True
I had stockies on my Weds, after a session at buttonwillow I went to recheck the torque and several of them had loosened themselves by a full turn! I was lucky. The ball seat lug nuts on aftermarket wheels seem to be ok with everyday driving. I still woudn't recommend them since they chew up wheels from improper fitment.

All Honda OE wheels use a ball seat for the lug nuts. Most aftermarket wheels use a tapered (conical) seat.
You cannot use ball-seat lugs on taper-seat wheels, and vice versa. The contact area is reduced and the lugs tend to loosen themselves and back off the studs, which can potentially cause the studs to shear off and the wheel to become detached from the car. Good luck with that.
You also have to be careful with taper-seat lugs as some wheels require a 45-degree taper while most require a 60-degree taper.
