Default ENGINE HARNESS BACKWARDS?????

I just ordered a b16 for my 95 DX and we got the motor in today mounted. and a couple other things. well the engine harness on the b16 i think is backwards. the plugs on the engine harness on the passenger side wont connect to my harness plugs. but it will connect to the ones on the driver side. and the driver side wont connect to the plugs but it will connect to the harness on the passenger side. if that makes any sense please let me know. sorry no pics or anything...i have to go eat for a friends b-day right now. but if anyone has ran across this problem or knows what im talking about any advice would be greatly app.

You just answered your own question. Japan cars have a reversed interior... and a semi reversed engine bay.... think now. THINK...

LOL, its backwards because cars there are right hand drive. You need a obd1 US harness. Google ff squad and also look through the faqs on here and you'll have all the info you need, it's been done a zillion times.

if you have your original dx harness you use that and the rywire vtec subharness. the rywire subharness is about 75 bucks i think, look it up.

you cant use that jdm harness unless you want an insane pain in the ***, as you can see it is totally backwards.

No. Your motor has vtec and a knock sensor I think and that harness doesn't have those. If you want to add your own wires to the harness for vtec and knock sensor though, you can use it.

doesn't really matter though, even if he uses a vtec harness like the gsr he is still gonna have to pin the vtec wires at the ecu. he has a dx so nothing is will be wired for vtec from the shock tower plugs back to the ecu. The gsr is nice though because he wont have to lengthen anything as far as the engine harness goes, just add the wires from the shock tower to the ecu. the dx is fine though, just add the rywire subharness or take the necessarry vtec/knock plugs from the jdm harness and run the wires your self.

Just search man, people have done this and full write ups all over the place, go to ffsquad.net and it will give you everything you need to know and then some.

you mean it doesn't matter on a chipped ecu, if he's using a stock obd1 del sol dohc ecu it matters. Not sure off top if the stock jdm obd1 b16 ecu looks for it or not. But yeah most people run chipped ecu's so it doesn't matter.
