Where should I adjust my fuel psi level to?
I have an h22 and its eating up alot of gas. It also has a 255 walbro fuel pump and I have a blox fuel pressure regulator with a gauge. Motor is stock with just header and intake. Should I adjust it to 39psi? or something else?
It depends on the injectors you're using. If you're using stock H22 injectors then the fuel pressure should be whatever the stock H22 fuel pressure is. Let's hope someone knows what the stock pressure is. Anyone?
yes Im using the stock obd1 h22a low impedance injectors 345cc... Is the stock psi 39-40psi? right now I set mines at 41-42psi and its killing my gas.. its in a civic using a stock basemap ecu chipped by phearable.net
I dont think so.. the car runs super smooth and doesnt rough idle or anything.. it also doesnt back fire or anything like that.. but my idle is constantly above 1rpm.. its like at 1,100 rpm and I adjusted the tps to 655 and it still stays up on idle at around 1,100rpm.. you think my psi fuel level is too high?

Check out your local library and see if they have a Chiltons or Haynes manual for the Prelude that this motor came out of and find out what the stock fuel pressure should be from there.
40-47psi that's with the vacuum hose on the FPR disconnected. Otherwise with the vacuum hose attached it should be 31-36psi I think.

yeah it might needs tuning.. I will try and adjust it to something lower than 40 psi and see what happens.. then I will also be checking my spark plugs to see if its running lean or rich.. I change the pcv, cleaned the IACV, adjusted the TPS, run 91 octane, cleaned the injectors, and running castro fully synthetic.. it runs perfectly find but its just idling 1,100 rpms and killing my gas..
maybe its just the h22 motor.. I went from a gsr and the gsr had good gas mileage.. anyone else have the same motor swap in a civic?
The GSR is a 1.8L engine. This is a 2.2L engine. Quite a difference. So that might be one of the reasons why your gas mileage is so bad. Ask a few people who are running this engine about the gas mileage they are getting and go from there.
the prelude motor gets about 19mpg street and 24mpg highway.. however weight plays a big part and my 97 civic cx being lighter than the prelude
I honestly have no clue because I just installed a new clutch and flywheel so I set my odometer to 0 and now its on 360miles.. waiting for 500 miles to come in so I know my clutch is ready to be broken into.. but from driving it I know Im wasting gas not bad but its different from my old gsr swap
Measure the gas mileage and if it's much lower than the average prelude then something's wrong. Otherwise you're okay.
And like I said, go to the library, pick up a manual for your car/engine and find out what it is from there. Or ask someone who has the service manual for a prelude that has your engine.

okay I found a manual for the prelude online.. it has 1043 pages of pdf files! now I have to scroll down and look for the fuel pages to make sure it should be set at 39-40psi.. however I dont think they will explain that because the stock prelude doesnt come with a fuel pressure regulator nor a gauge

If you're using Adobe Reader, you can search for "fuel pressure" in the manual and that should take you to it.
What? No FPR on the prelude? How the hell does it set the fuel pressure then? Does the fuel pump regulate it or what?

What are you running for exhaust? do you have a catalytic converter???
If it is even slightly restricting, you may not notice any power difference, but you will definitely notice fuel mileage. I see you live in Cali, so i guess removing it would be out of the question.... you poor Cali folk and your emission testing.

sorry I mean adjustable fuel pressure regulator.. besides it also doesnt have a gauge to monitor it so i doubt the manuals going to tell me to go to the store and pick up a blox fuel gauge along with a blox adjustable fuel pressure regulator and adjust it to 40psi
