Default 4th gear GRIND with amsoil fluid help

I have a 06 civic si with about 42k on it. I was using pennzoil synchromesh to see if it would help my third gear pop out and it did. After another 10k it started to feel a little funny. I was doing some research and heard about amsoil. I bought it and put it in and ever since i have beem having a problem speed shifiting into four. I have also notice if im going around 80mph it will GRIND really bad. Has anyone had this problem or heard of anything like this? Sorry for the story but its the best way i can explain it.

amsoil is crap. makes your tranny feel notchy. i suggest you change it out to redline or gm synchromesh friction modified.

After getting tired of the third gear grind issue, I just recently drained and filled my trans with Acura manual transmission fluid. My third gear grind and overall notchiness went away. It feels fine now.

I was thinking about switching over too, so Amsoil is not the way to go?

its technically the same as the honda fluid. it only feels good because the fluid is new, after a few thousand miles it will be notchy again.

Yupppp...Acuras with 6 speeds experience the same notchiness...*It's not the fluid!*

The only thing draining/changing the fluid really does is remove all of the bits of metal and stuff that are still suspended within the fluid, and obviously refresh the fluid. Like Z said, after a little while, when the new fluid starts to break down, the notchiness will come back.

if you guys were all smart just grind the f&^k out of your 3 gear since its already grinding. drive around town for a week and take it back to the dealer so they can replace your gears for you lol.. you guys better have a warranty to cover it still though lol.. thats exactly what i did and they replaced it for me. it it starts grinding on my again imma do the same thing and i barely have 6,200 mi. on my si right now.... they should have designed it better, in my opinion
