Default center/bottom mount srt intake manifold.....

i made this for a 1gn neon owner with an srt swap. ive been wanting to do a desgin like this for about 2 years now but never got the time or materials. so when the customer contacted me i was all for it. i still need to get the mani machined for the injector bungs and then weld them in and do the rail mounts also. anyways heres the pics thus far........ it will probably be a week or so before i get the finished pics up.

the fab looks fantastic... but i can't help but wonder how much thought/research people put into the design of their intake manifolds. i understand the same thing applies to turbo exhaust manifolds, but in most cases, turbo manifolds are built around the "make it fit" principle. any aftermarket intake manifold should have atleast enough room to play with that the oem manifold sits in, so i feel there is room for improvement. i have no idea what this is replacing, but i feel the design could be improved. it looks like there are too many sharp edges inside.

well this was kind of a fit to the room provided situation........ at least on the left side of the manifold anyways so i made the right siode the same way to be symetrical. as for the pipe going into the plenum from underneath yeah there are some edges there but at least the car is boosted, so the plenum is just a resavoir full of boost waiting for the first set of valves to open. if it were N/A i would have went ahead and got some u bends or 90's and cut them in half to give it a taper into the plenum rather than that stright shot its got now. actually the next one i do may have it wether its boosted or not. anyways keep it coming guys.

yeah, sorry for coming off as an asshat. i'm building something soon and here is what i'm using for inspiration:

i'd really like to open a discussion here on good intake manifold design, or have someone point me in the direction where there might already be a good discussion on it. i'm having trouble finding in depth information beyond the basics.
