68mm throttle body?? is it worth it?
my buddy wants to sell me his 68mm TB and im currently running a stock gsr TB is it worth getting?
setup is... gsr 9:1, stock head except itr cams. running 9 and 14psi and skunk2 IM

My calculator for a stock type R (195hp) boosted to 9 or 14psi (~350hp) gives me a recommendation for a 73+ mm for a throttle body.
Again the calculations... going from a 60mm @ 375hp @ 14psi to a 68mm @ 375hp @ 14psi comes back with a power loss reduction from -15hp (-0.5psi) to -8.9hp (-0.24psi)...
So you gain about 6 hp or a 0.25 psi in reduced pressure drop...

i speak from experience here, on your average 300-350whp setup, there is hardly any difference on stepping up to a 68mm.
i think it all depends on how much you are getting it for and whether or not you think it is worth it.... is far as gains i see it being very minimal

EDIT, NVM, saw it on your website....

Power difference wont really be noticable but you will have quicker throttle responce from the larger throttle body, how much quicker is tough to say. i run a 72mm str off my old drag car on my stroked gsr and it has very snappy throttle vs stock TB
my piping is 2.5 so the TB will just be little bigger. i understand that its bigger so more air can flow in but if its to big then will lose pressure forcing it in or something like that correct?
my opinion its not worth spending 150-200 for a t body.. If you get one of them b series or h22 throttle bodys 60-62 mm butterfly.. I have seen 400whp on a stock 56mm so no more then 60mm...
trick to the IC piping is small as possible without to much air speed. depends all on the turb output, as for TB the only real problem with going very large is even at part throttle it will read WOT on the map so can make tuning a little more difficult
