J32A exposed to elements for 4 months...
Swapping a J32A into my Teg with the Hasport kit.
Put a deposit down on a J32A full swap (Engine, trans, ECU, wiring, cables, shift box, starter, alternator) from the wreckers. Went to check out the motor before they pulled it and the hood was off. The car was in a front end collision.
Bolts on the engine are slightly rusted, intake manifold is sun scarred.
Could this engine be compromised after spending so much time in the rain/sun/weather?
For $2500 of cold hard cash, I wanted to ask and get opinions.

I wouldnt be too worried. If you want, do a compression test on the engine. All you need is a starter, tranny, and a battery to do it. And of course make sure there is oil in it. Only thing i would be worried about is if there has been water sitting in the spark plug holes. Look for cracked hoses
We pressure wash our motors and they pretty much sit outside on pallets for a while after that. Nothing really happens to them.

Considering this yourself? I can't wait to get into this... it will be um... unbelievably stupid fast.
Well, from an OEM standpoint that is. As far as I'm concerned, this swap has the best of all worlds. It's different, it's OEM, powerful, has loads of torque and has a lot of potential.
You got it...

Yeah hood clearance is the only issue I've seen so far with these swaps.
OP what are your plans for axles? Is somebody making V6 hybrid swap axles already?

I DON'T THINK IT LOOKS TO BAD WITH NO HOOD ON THE CAR BECAUSE ITS SUCH A BAD @$$ MOTOR...IM TRYING TO DO THE SAME SWAP INTO A CIVIC. AND IT SEEMS LIKE IT WILL BE RELIABLE AND FAST STOCK bump

Not sure but I don't think it's legal to ride around with no hood... not to mention it's all out there for everyone to see what you have, and you have rain and other elements getting all over it.
It's not hard to have a stock hood modified made with a nice smooth bump for the clearance of the motor.
That shouldn't be a determining fact if your considering this swap.
I think a Teg with a smooth "power bump" will be bad ***. I'll smoke a lot of stuff with this swap. Can't wait.
