using a boost controller with a chipped ecu
going to use either ECtune, Neptune, or Crome to tune my car (specs are in sig) and i was wonderign if there would be any advantage to using a seperate boost controller (like a greddy profec b spec II) instead of just using the turbo options that come with the software?
what exactly do you mean by turbo options.
the boost controller will not control fuel and timing just duty cycle of the wastegate spring
even with a e.b.c you will still need to have a proper tune.
or you could go with the boost controll option offered in crome gold, ectune, hondata, and neptune which uses the egr valve output to control a solenoid
both options have there advantages, i use s300 with boost controll and i run a boost per gear table that lets me adjust pressure for every 1000 rpm for each gear

meant boost options, sorry i suck at wording stuff.
like i know with ectune you can do boost per gear vs boost by rpm, etc. was just wondering if using an electronic boost controller would hold any advantage than just setting things up using ectune/etc.

Especially if you have a wastegate that tends to creep you can easily dial in the boost so it is steady through out the RPM range, which can be helpful in gaining back a bunch of mid-range power.
IMO it is the best way of controling boost for your money.
