anything over $500 pretty much. it depends where you live and your noise tolerance. any exhuast for sale will be legal if you have a cat and mufler and keep the decibal down. do straight pipe if you dont live in cali.woot woot

Apexi WS2. Can be had for under $500 shipped if you know where to look.

Best sounding civic exhaust in my opinion. I can almost guarantee that this thread will be full of a bunch more posts agreeing with me in about 10 minutes, judging from every other time someone asks this question.

It's been an hour an a half and no one has agreed with you yet.

bahaha. But it IS a good exhaust. It's quieter than the RSR Ex Mag.

I've got the WS2 with a test pipe on my d16y8. Sounds great and got it for $486.

lol I've been proven wrong... I said that because everytime someone starts a 'which exhaust should I get' thread, 393278402 people come out just to say Apexi WS2.

And it's longllama... half longcat / half llama.

i have to agree with the other guy anytime a question is asked about what exhaust to get everyone and thier mom says the ws2 half of them probably dont have the exhaust or have never heard it in person but just like leimers (probably spelled wrong ) if one jumps they all follow. now back to the question yes the ws2 sounds good but my votes are for the greddy evo 2 or the skunk2 mega power allot say the skunk2 is way too loud but i run it with a cat and its not that loud to me but just about any straight through muffler will NOT pass state emmissions alteast i know not in maryland, virginia, DC, pennsylvania, NC or in cali so if your in another state not listed you might have a chance lol but whatever opinions are thrown out here just take them and plug them in to youtube and take a listen

The muffler has nothing to do with emissions... I had a magnaflow straight through muffler on my old car with no resonator and it passed everytime... If your car is OBD2 they just plug it in the diagnostic port anyway... If your car is OBD1 you have to do the sniffer, and that has to do with pollutant output... My car would almost deafen the operator while he was running it through the sniffer but it still passed everytime...

Your car will fail a MD state inspection if it doesn't have a cat or a muffler, other than that its fair game... One of the VERY few things MD is lenient about...

As for exhaust recommendations I always vote for custom that way you get the sound that you want... My favorite setup is 2.25-2.5" piping with a magnaflow high flow cat and a magnaflow straight through muffler put up as close to the engine as possible... The more pipe after the muffler the better it sounds... Plus no stupid fartcan...

As for aftermarket kits I like the APEXI WS2 the best, I have that on my car now and had a straight pipe section put on in place of the muffler so I can swap back and forth between quiet and loud exhaust as I want...

The Greddy EVO2 and HKS Hi Power sound terrible IMO...

In Illinois, technically if it's louder than stock, it's illegal. I have an Apexi exhaust system and have never been bothered, but it depends how much of a ***** a cop wants to be.

I know people who have gotten tickets for loud exhausts, and people running straight pipes who have never had issues.

it all depends on local laws but i know for a fact that what you say about louder than stock is NOT true. if you get a ticket check the law and do your homework its legal. i got a ticket in michigan for loud exhaust but i took a db meter with proof and fought it and won. gotta know your ****...

This man speaks the truth. I have a B16B motor with NO cat (cuz I can) and the WSII. It has a mean low exhaust note....and it's still quite quiet.

Apex, RSR, Greddy, but then again if a cop thinks it is not street legal he/she will still ticket you. Might as well get whatever exhaust you want and then have an exhaust shop add a resonator.
