Slight coolant smell??
When I am driving on the highway, and I release the throttle to slow down or just release the throttle for any reason I can smell coolant. I don’t have any white smoke, there is not oil mixing with coolant. I have checked any could not find any leaks. Coolant gets a little low here and there but nothing extreme. I am stumped. I mean, I am pretty sure this means it is burning up somewhere but where could it be. Or is this related to a totally different problem? Thanks for the help!
i am having a smilar problem. my car loses a lot of coolant though. could it be that the engine is running hot? my temp gauge works and it says my water temp is fine. it also burns oil. not as quick as the coolant though. This is a rebuilt gsr with almost everything new. I removed my pcv tank, could that be a problem?
I had the same problem on my turbo LS. Do you still have the stock radiator? I ask becasue mine had a small leak and while driving it blew onto my downpipe. I couldnt smell it while driving because it was such a small amount, but when i was slowing to a stop and the air wasnt flowing so fast I could detect the odor. I have upgraded to an aluminum dual core and no more problem.
