Default welding to shock housing

so i have a set of koni yellows from a my bros wrecked em1 si and i am putting them on my crv. the rear shocks on the crv are the same mount as a itr. i have a set of perfectly good rear em1 shocks and its hard to sell just 2. and im out of work so i dont have money for a new set of itr's. what my question is, can i swap these pieces and weld to the bottom of the shock saftely without hurting the shock or it exploding in my face?

I would measure the lower control arms and see if you could just swap that instead. Seems kinda dangerous to try and change that mount.

it just sux cause these shocks have 5k on them and i dont think any other ca would work. it a 4wd crv. i very concerned with being able to put this car back to stock if i need to. i just talked to some dude who has a set of oem itr shocks but he want to trade me strait up for the konis. i think i would be making a huge mistake trading them.

Better off selling the Koni's and buying new struts.

that asnwers alot of questions. thank you. so what im seeing is that the em1 arm is longer but the shock still sits in almost the same distance from the middle of the car. i think im gonna buy a set of blox rear lower control arms and try to see if they fit right. it doesnt hurt to try. im also going to go to my local dealer and see if they have them both in stock and measure all the wholes and make sure they will line up.

That is a good parts break down I would double check though the part #'s are different.

52350-S10-A00 (right side)- CRV
52350-ST7-R00 (right side)- Type R
