Default SOo0o0o0oOO0o PLEASED with JDM B18C....

So i got my swap completed today. JDM B18C into a '96 Civic DX coupe....I got a lightweight flywheel and a stage 2 Exedy Clutch....I cant say enough how pleased i am with the motor and its power...I had a built B16 previously in this Coupe and was happy to feel the difference in power in this motor. vtec crossover is solid and 3rd to 4th exchanges at 8900 rpm hits the spot...it sounds GREAT and as soon as it sets in fourth, it starts movin pretty damn good. I had to make this post because i was so happy with how it turned out....

Have you driven a GSR? If so, what can you say about the difference. Thanks

Yea ive driven a couple of GSR's....everyone tells me this motor has to be one the "factory freaks" but the ITR leaves very minimal room for comparison with a GSR....

- ITR -

strong in EVERY gear at ALL rpms....
9K rpm redline....
NEVER wants to stop revving...
LSD Tranny....

Overall out of 100 = 90+

- GSR -

2 Stage VTEC helps with low RPM torque...
8200 rpm redline.......mehhh....
Looooong Trans....
no LSD...

Overall out of 100 = 80+

IMHO the ITR stands apart from all of the other motors....the feeling of hitting 9k in third and shifting into 4th and hearing every single part of the motor SCREEEEAAAAMMMIN is untouchable....

but by the same token, a GSR takes VERY well to bolt ons....so if your gonna do some work to it and build it up a bit, then save the extra money from getting the JDM ITR and build up the GSR....

Very nice info, I enjoyed. I have a Stock 95 JDM B18C SiR-G With the LSD, Skunk2 IM, Programmed ECU, 65MM TB, Header, High Flow cat and Cat-back. It revs lovely, Im very curious on a Geniune Type R Motor. Thank you! I'll be getting one in the future.

my car was a gsr before i blew it up. the itr is more everywhere. the trans is better. the power is better. the motor is just easier to drive. the 5700rpm vtec is great for DD since you don't crossover unless you want to. the gsr is always in vtec at 4400. the gsr falls off faster and i swear actually has LESS midrange than the itr.

Did you honestly say "two stage VTEC"?

You're talking about the second runners, the B18C does NOT have two stage VTEC.
