Default Crower Stage 3 GSR stock compression??

i got a good deal on some crower stage 3 cams for my gsr.. this is my setup..

i have stock tb
aebs intake mani
crower valvetrain
hytech rep header
aem cam gears, fuel rail, and fuel press reg
chipped p28

Do you guys think i should get some forged 12.5:1 pistons b4 puttin in the cams??
i kno a need a bigger tb, thats cheap compared 2 pistons so i would like to get pistons first if need be.. has any one had good hp numbers with these cams?? I see every1 is runnin the skunk2's but i am gettin a crazy deal for the crowers..

12.5:1 is too high for a pump gas street car, race fuel/e85 only. There is also no need to run forged pistons, cast itr pistons would be ideal.

could be done....... stock jdm itr's on my buddys gsr bumped his comp. to 11.5:1 thats good enough comp. for those cams on pump gas.

There is very very little benifit of running forged vs cast pistons. A simple clean up and valve job would be adiquate, too many guys get carried away trying to have the biggest and best only to be dissapointed in the end by using the wrong combination of parts.

I have run the crower 3's on a stock block gsr and I feel that unless you got a really good deal on them you would be better off with something a little smaller.

yea im gettin them 4 a ridiculous deal so i jus wanna kno wat combo would work good with these cams..
im looking into buyin some oversized type r pistons like 81.5mm and get a slight bore n hone.. im also looking into get a bigger throttle body.. like a 66mm or 68mm to 65mm taper bore tb..
im gonna dd the car for the summer and then it will b parked up by september-october..

Here is the question you need to ask youself, do you have a stage 3 motor?
Do you need a stage 3 cam?
What is your tuning ability?
Is it still a rediculous deal if it performs worse than a stage 1 cam?

What do you consider a stage 3 motor? Crower 3's arnt that agressive as other cams... ive seen them on stock gsr blocks a few times

I have seen many things done, that does not mean that they are smart things or the best choice.

They produced power on the dyno.. if he's getting them real cheap an they make HP why not? Yes, I do agree there are better cams for his setup though.
