Might be dropping a B20 Turbo into an EF. Going over my options with what I should run. I have an LSD 4.4 FD Mechanical trans and a hydro LS trans both are bone stock. Which would be the better choice? Obviously LSD would be sweet but what about the short gearing?

The car would be a daily driver with mild highway use and I'm shooting for 250 - 275 HP on a bone stock B20 with a .57 trim and an awesome tune.

Those of you running turbo B20's please chime in with your trans selection and what you like/dislike about them.

 

get a b16 tranny and use a LS 5th gear since it's goin to be daily driven street/highway.

im running a b20-v turbo, on my stock type r tranny.. im pushing well over 350 to the wheel and once you can grab traction, it goes.. haha. i have been wanting to put in a LS 5th tho. but youll like it.. too much boost tho, and 1st gear is pretty much so short its useless

 

how does the JDM B16 trans (that's what I have) compare to the USDM Type R trans?

 

gsr trans with quaife lsd here..........perfecty combo imo........
