Alignment Specs with toe adjusting?? Plz Help
i've been reading that you just need to adjust the tie rods to Zero Degrees instead of spending money on a camber kit. Well my girlfriends car is pretty low and told her to save money instead of getting a camber kit. She goes to get an alignment and asks the guy if he can set the Toes to Zero degree's. He tells her he cant do anything without a spec sheet. I never heard of this i thought you could just adjust and read the degrees that are on the screen but idk. If anyone could give some advice please do.
she's on Koni/GC also and front tires are wearin on the inside pretty bad..guy said to call koni and ask for specs. idk, doesn't make sense to me.

tell me about it bro lol im on the phone like umm..doesn't the screen show u whats goin on in degrees? why cant he just set it to zero?? and the guy insists on having a spec sheet. I guess he doesn't deal with slammed/lowered cars often so i guess he wants to be sure..idk i just want a spec sheet i can print out and give to the guy so i dont have to hear any other excuses.
At that point, I'd find another shop to do it instead.
I've been turned down when asking for an alignment for the following:
1) Lowered car
2) Aftermarket adjustable components (camber adjusting UCAs)
3) Asking for non-OEM alignment parameters (toe and camber)
Just keep looking until you find a shop that is actually willing to do what you want them to do. A good shop is worth both finding and giving repeat business to.

I guess i gotta get my search on locally.I did alignments when i went to tech. I dont see what the big deal is..the damn monitor tells u all the degrees. sheesh.
but theres no diagram/print-out online that i could use as a "spec sheet"??

also, factory specs while good for tire wear are by no means a fast way to set the car up. neg 1.5-2.0 up front and neg 1.0 in the back with a slight toe in out back and a slight toe out up front will be quicker every day, actually the back can be between 1/16th in and zero. by slight i mean no more than 1/8th, above that you will waste tires. 1/16th is usually good

Any toe out up front will just accelerate tire wear when there is negative camber involved. While it may be faster for track purposes, it's not the best idea for a daily driver. Just get the toe as close to zero as possible.
Also what kind of machine is this dude using? Most computerized alignment machines have factory specs for nearly all cars stored in the machine.
