that's a plain ole 98 spec jdm itr engine. why some people still call those spoon motors is beyond me.

jdm importers like this one will sell you the same thing for $400 less

if its a spoon it will have a yellow valvle cover. and a spoon vin plate riveted to the block. with a serial number on it.

not a spoon motor but the place its from is legit (Japan Star Motor) i bought alot of parts from them. last time i was there they had 5 ITR swaps. if you go there you can actually bargin with them and get some really good prices

Actually I'm not in the market for an engine right now, I just seen that on craigslist and I was wondering. I did call them yesterday though for a part and they never called back.

japan star is on ebay all the time. the market has held somewhat firm at 3500 for a 96-97 spec and 4000 for a 98+ shipped. since freight is around $250 on one of those i would think you could save that much if you lived close to the place. i know i paid 4000 for my 96-97 BUT there is a twist. i have a new in the honda box ITR trans bolted on the motor.

I though that SPOON had make a block girdle for the b16b, so that could rev to like 11k?
