so as some of you know, my 99 civic ex coupe which i had for about a month and a half was in an accident on may 23, 2009. my rear tire popped on the 15 freeway while i was going 75mph. the entire front end is gone but the frame suffered little if not any damage since it is still straight.
i want to fix it myself with the help of my friends so the question is
can i use the front end(NOT THE BUMPER, FENDERS, GRILL, HOOD and HEADLIGHTS. but the radiator support) from a 99-00 civic sedan and just weld it into place? or will it be completely different.
i was going to get a 98 front but i thought it will not match the bumper, fenders, etc because they changed the front a little.

yep they are the same thing.
as long as the frame rails are correct everything should sit fine.
but in case you already dont know dont weld anything till the everything has been put on and alinged.

because one of my friends said something about some "hinge like thing that doesnt move" that the 99-00 front core support has. and im just wondering if there will be any problem putting on the front end(bumper, hood, fenders, etc)
you can stll use a 98 you will just need to cut your bumper mounts. and re-drill them. everything bolts up just like stock.
its simple.
ill try and find the diy for ya.

i do not know how come i did not come upon this.
since i always search before posting.
but thank you once again
Okay I dont know if anyone has awnsered your question or not cause I was skimming through the article. I haave a 1998 civic and I did the 2000 front end conversion. If you are putting a 1998 front end on you WILL have to drill some new wholes on the (1999 civic) core support. You will need all of this
-98 front bumper
-98 grille
-98 fenders
-98 hood
---My advice to you is to just find the 1999 peices (hood, fenders, grille, front bumper) and redo it all everything should bolt-on if yourframes straight) so no welding! ---
I have not heard of 1999 owners putting on the older face (1998) but plenty of 1998 owners do the 99-00 front end conversion.
