Default mini me z6 with y8 head

My car 98 civic ex has a rod knock from sucking in water not alot but enough to do that to it. Im looking to replace the block with a z6 cauase i found some for cheap and can't find any good y8 blocks that doesn't need any rebuilding or what not. Would anyone have idea how to do the swap because i look around and researched but nothing helpful came out and if anyone has already done this and has a write up that would be great. thanks.

Z6 block is better. y8 blocks get rod knock a lot from oil starvation and their crappy oil pumps.

So, what is your actual question? like how do you change blocks?

Yeah i sucked up water and i didn't even think it was alot plus i have a short ram i don't know the hell water got in there but it did. anyways i have my stock d16y8 and i'll just be switching blocks but what i really what to know is what are the parts that i'll need to have it running good and won't have any problems putting it into my civic which is obd2.

You can get arp headbolts for this application. The only thing you need to worrie about is the timing issue. An adjustable cam gear should do the trick. But Ive heard that you can use a z6 cam gear and you should be good to go but dont hold me too it.
