Default Help with identifying trans FD...

I just got a JDM ITR motor, im not sure which year...ive found some odd things with it...the oil pan says P72 instead of 73....the block seems stamped 95, while the head looks like its stamped 96...the tranny is a S80 and is def. a LSD...but im trying to figure out which final drive i have.

The '96-97 came with 4.4 and the 98+ is 4.75 correct?

are there any ways to tell what FD i have other than taking it apart?

...Easy guy...You have answered most of your questions.
-All ITR and GSR ahve P72 oil pans.
-'96-97 came with 4.4 and the 98+ is 4.75
-S80 with LSD stamp on the tranny means ITR tranny
...I'm not sure about the stamping on the block and head. Perhaps, some close-up pictures will help.

Drive it and report back what RPMs you are at when you are travelling 60 mph in 4th gear.

When I bought my first JDM ITR swap, I saw the P72 on the oil pan and freaked out. I was so used to associating P72 with GSR. That along with the ambiguous 'B18C' block code made me think I had paid ITR money for a GSR swap.

Does your transmission have any stamping on it? J4D = 4.4FD and N3E = 4.78FD.

EASY. Use this calculator http://www.teammfactory.com/gearcalculator.php

Then get in your car and see what speeds you top out in in each gear.
