H22a In an ej8 help? Obd issue...
Hey all, I recently put a h22 swap in my 97 Honda Civic Ex I was under the impression the motor was a 96 motor which would be compatible with my car as it would have a crank angle sensor. Well come to find out its a jdm motor and its missing the crank angle sensor and i believe its an obd1 from looking at the dizzy.
Well onto the problem the car is up and running but I'm an North Carolina resident and i don't think i can pass inspection with the jumper harness and the car won't start with an obd2 ecu. So i was wondering if there's anyway i could make the motor register to the obd2 ecu as an obd2 motor as they plug the cars up here.
Any help will be greatly appreciated being that its time to get my vehicle inspected. The swap is in the car and running and such and it kinda sucks i saved up to do the swap right and here i am where i can't figure out what to do as far as inspection goes.
I've been googling all night I've searched here also nothing. Maybe I'm searching for the wrong things again any help will be greatly appreciated its 3 in the A.M and im coming up with nothing...
Thanks in advance.

I dont think you can ever bar an h22a motor in a civic.. they wont allow it, the same way they wont allow you to swap a b20 in a civic.. they consider it a "light truck motor" however you can pass with d or B series motors
