Default Vtec will not work HELP

I have had my integra for awhile now and ever since I bought it, vtec has not worked. I have tried switching out the oil pressure switch and the vtec solenoid and I know that my oil is fine.

Last fall I swapped out my vtec solenoid with one of my friends and vtec engaged with my friends solenoid. After I gave this solenoid back to him, i went through 3 different, working solenoids and all 3 of them did not seem to work. I took my friends solenoid back off his car and put it back onto mine (The first solenoid that I tried and it worked) and it did not engage. I know this solenoid works and it has worked on my car before.

With all that being said, I have NO IDEA with what is wrong with my VTEC. I am confused at why my vtec would engage with the solenoid I have on now last fall and now when I put it back on, it wont work.

I was to the point where I didnt even care anymore, but I figure I should get this working. HELP ME

you might want to doule check the o-ring under the center cam cap. it could be ripped etc. or even check the ECU (if it has been modded)

I have my stock ecu. The thing that throws me off is that when I first swapped my buddies solenoid on it worked, and now I have his same solenoid on and it will not engage.

The o ring is the problem then, replace it and that should fix it

Today I just switched out the whole vtec housing along with a different solenoid and it still will not engage. I forgot to mention that my car threw codes p1259 which i know is vtec malfunction. Would that code be associated with the ecu or be thrown because of a loose connection somewhere with wiring?

thats what it sounds like to me, did you reset the computer , when you tried out your buddys solenoid? was the check engine on when you tried to make vtec engage?

You can tell if vtec engages. Like I stated ABOVE, I first swapped a solenoid and I could HEAR vtec.

ANyone else have any suggestions of what it could be?!?!

is there oil in the motor? have you checked the wiring or ran a wire straight from the vtec solenoid to the ecu? (like you would if your car wasnt wired for vtec)
try a couple different things first then go from there

My oil is good. Just changed it today too. I havent tried running a wire from the solenoid to the ecu. How would you go about doing that?

Are the 3 vtec wires hardwired directly to the ecu or is this already a vtec chassis?

Second that
Vtec will still work when Knock is not working or plug. It's just that you ecu will go in limp mode.
