If I'm honest... it's one horrid example of a box-styled car. The rear window wraps around on one side of the car, but not the other...

That's because it eliminates the driver's blind spot.

It doesn't matter, it's just a pretty bad aesthetic choice. If I were designing to eliminate the blind spot, I'd probably do it to both sides so it wouldn't look so uneven. Wouldn't everyone?

I wouldn't. Not everything on a car has to be symmetrical. I really like the cube.

I'm actually a fan of it. Definitely better htan the new xB, and depending on its use, the Element.

doesn't everyone on H-T scream about function over form?

that's the older generation cube (not released here anyways)

Here's the new one (2009):

I believe the reason it wraps around one side is to reduce blind spots. On the JDM one, you can see it wraps around the left (our driver side), while on the USDM one, it wraps around the right (our passenger side). I'm not 100% on this though. We have some at work, and they seem to drive a lot better than the versa's. They are also made in japan, while versa's are made in mexico, whatever that's worth :p

It's ugly, and if it has the same build quality as the SE-R my wife had, it's a giant turd.

That's a pretty unrelated and extreme comparison to the worst engine put out by Nissan. The cube comes with the MR18, not the QR25.

I really haven't decided if I like it or not. I'd have to check it out in person and drive one. I really don't mind the Scion xB as long you realize its not a race car, haha.

Read a review comparing this, the Kia Soul and the newer XB. Out of the 3, it got 3rd.

I like that last one posted though.

So does the Versa, but it still sucks to drive. I wonder if it's purely fuel economy or to give the essence of class and performance in a car that has none.

Let me reword my statement:

Though function over form may have been the motivation for the choice, aesthetically I disagree. Though assymetry can look organic and neat, this is a case in which I would not have gone this route. Anywho, all IMO.

I don't like Cubes at all. Never seen one customized either. If I was looking into that class of vehicle I'd rather have a Box anyways... or even a Kia Soul.
