are those actual pictures? because it looks like the color balance was just changed to show different temperatures, the color of the orange light changes with each color. just wondering.
That picture was from the manufacturer. The only color you should notice is the low beam. That is very accuate.
BE CAREFUL DEALING WITH THESE PEOPLE! Spread the word!
88 Rotors is one of the worst businesses I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with! They are rude, slow, disorganized, negligent, and in my particular case, an outright SCAM. I can back up everything that I'm about to say and will e-mail evidence to anyone who requests it.
On 07/22/09 I ordered Type R rotors and PBR ultimate pads for all four corners from the old honda-tech special (https://honda-tech.com/forums/wheels-tires-brakes-suspension-48/%7C%7C-fs-brembo-blank-rotors-pbr-ultimate-ceramic-brake-pads-best-deal-yet-%7C%7C-1411597/, from 2005). I have PayPayl and Amex receipts to back this up.
Despite extensive communication with Travis of 88 Rotors specifying exactly what I want (I have this saved), they still sent me WRONG PARTS. Apart from that, they took more than 2 weeks to get here, and what did come may have been "brand new" at some point, but came in totally ripped and tattered packaging. The rotors were well rusty and dirty, so that would indicate that they have probably been improperly stored for a while. It also looked like the front pair had been mounted before. To be fair, the braking surface was smooth, aside from the dirt and rust, so I'm not 100% sure how on two of the four rotors the slight wear patterns in the center and at the two countersinks came to be.
Now even though I've specified the exact parts I wanted repeatedly in my e-mails to Travis, according to the people on the phone I wasn't specific enough in my PayPayl description, so that's why I got the wrong parts. Mind you, Travis never told me to include anything in the PayPal description at all; and even if my description were ambiguous, how about referring back to the earlier communication, or just asking me? I guess that involves too much common sense or coordination, neither of which are traits I would attribute to 88 Rotors.
Regardless, after being rude on the phone, they instructed me to ship the wrong parts back. I’m not normally an argumentative person, so although they flat out refused to accept responsibility and pay for return shipping, I was over dealing with them and just wanted my parts. So, I shelled out an extra $20+, followed their shipping instructions word for word, and sent the items back (I have a shipping receipt to prove it). When two weeks later I still hadn't heard anything from them, I called yet again, and was told that the returned parts were never entered into their shipping logs, so they would not send me the correct replacement, despite proof of shipping. Again, they were uncooperative or unreachable at best.
In other words it, looks to me like they're either so confused and negligent that they simply lost the returned parts or forgot to enter them in the log and put them in the big pile of rusting rotors, just like when they sent the wrong parts in the first place; one of their employees took them and the company won't accept responsibility, just like they did when they sent the wrong parts; or they're scamming me.
So now I have wasted almost two months of the season (I live in NY), hours on the phone and e-mail with these people, paid $220 for the rotors/pads + $20 for shipping the wrong parts back, and I have NOTHING to show for it, except the fact that I'm clearly angry.
While I'm not too worried about the money -- PayPal is dealing with it right now, and if their limited policy doesn't pan out, Amex always will, I would hate to see any other gearhead to go through the same ordeal. I also don't think such a business has a right to survive in this economy.
I've used honda-tech as my primary resource since 2001, and I've come to respect the marketplace, because it's always seemed to be based on a "honda-tech honor system". While I'm sure some people have managed to receive decent product from these guys at some point, I hope this story serves as a fair warning about the hassle you might be getting yourself into for marginally cheaper but subpar or wrong parts (or in my case, absolutely nothing). If you do decide to order from them, at the very least use Amex or a similar method of protection, and be prepared to waste a few weeks.

you are not the only one. I ordered a set of HID's from him. The ballast were bad so I sent them back. He tried to say he didnt get them. I sent him the tracking and proof of delivery and he completely stopped talking to me. He will not return any of my PM's. Now I am stuck without ballast and a set of bulbs i cant even use. **** 88 ROTORS!

Your threatening "I'm calling you out" PM's are very immature from 1000 miles away. We will be happy to help you if you contact us directly. We are NOT here to scam anyone. We've been on HT since 2005 with plenty of positive feedback.
Uhh... "the other guy's issue was already resolved". Really??? Cause I'm still down $240 with no rotors/pads! Care to elaborate?
