just like the title says....would a y8 cam in my d16z6 head/block make any difference...i also have a cam gear too but not installed yet...any help would help me alot...like in timing ect.

 

z6 is better. i think the y8 will just throw the timing off cause of the different lobes. if not then its the same ****.

 

notable difference is very unlikely. there are plenty of places to buy a good power-making aftermarket cam. you could also have that spare reground.

you won't find a magic power adder by swaping in a Y8 cam. you'll need to spend some cash.

 

spend some cash and even then don't notice a difference until you get it tuned.

 

dont do it i was sent a y8 comp stage2 accidently by a manufacturer and the cam was ruined. the y8 does not line up correctly in the head and it puts stress on the lobes.

 

i have a d16z6 in my civic and i have the y8 cam out of the d16y8 its the stock cam but it does make a little bit of a difference.

what is the timing gear?
