Default Gas mileage...

i think am getting lousy gas mileage on my eg here is some info on it:

b16a2 complete swap
replaced:
cap, rotor
fuel filter
air filter
cleaned injectors
timing is dead on at 16 degrees
new spark plugs
oil change every 3000 miles
tire pressure is good
no CEL's

i drive normal (which means, not stepping on the gas and shifting at about 3k rpms) and i get about a maxium of 220 miles to the tank... and i wanted to see what other people with eg's get with a b16a2.

A couple questions that i have...

How fast are you driving?

What kind of ecu setup are you running? is it chipped or anything like that?

Have you had a valve adjustment recently?

Done a compression test to see the health of the motor, or even leak down?

Hows your alignment? what are your tires psi?

i will probably think of other things after you answer those questions

^^^^hes correct check those and lube the wheel bearings and everything that helps the car roll smooth. if you put it into neatural at 70MPH and it slows down to much then something needs to be lubed. or a dragging brake caliper.

HAHA, my single cam gets 340 to the tank yooo !

as far as driving i only drive in town and shift at 3k rpm, am running p30 ecu 5 speed all stock and no chip with no CELs.

as far as valve adjustment i think i need one cuz i could start hearing my valves a little, and i havent done a compression test or a leak down. alignment was done not too long ago and i check my tires every weekend to see if there are at 35 psi.

Also, it could be a bad O2 sensor and/or bad coolant temperature sensor.

how does the car drive? does everything "feel" ok or is it a slug?

shifting at a lower rpm will help, i have a d16y7 and shift at about 2k and don't bog at any time.

what about maybe a clogged cat?

Id check all things mentioned and hopefully something will work, otherwise ill keep thinking on it

so far i have tried chevron and many other gas stations.. no difference at all...

when i got the car if i remember well the seller told me it had a hollow cat could that be it?

and the as far as the car being ok, well it is. i have checked my spark plugs and am not running rich nor lean..

other things to mention: i have no power steering nor ac.

i usually pump about 8.7 gal and i get about 220 miles to the tank.

I know i was getting crappy gas milage and it turned out to be a bad o2 sensor. I hadn't gotten any CEL either but i changed it and it helped out.

so you are getting that mileage with the basemap from phearable. I am still geting 16mpg (all city). I am so sick of trying to figure out the problem.

have you replaced your thermostat lately? basically it keeps the engine cooler if it sticks open causing your mileage to suck *****. also, your primary sensor should be tested to make sure the resistance is ok.
