Default My car is overheating!!! what can i do??

Yesterday i swaped a motor into my 89 Si for a 90 Si motor with about 30K miles... this motor has been sitting around for about 4 years or maybe 5... well.. i swaped it in... and it took a few cranks to start it but it finally started... when i was driving it home the temperature would always go up to almost the H on the temp gauge... .i started the heater inside the car to try to lower the temp but the heater was only throwing cool air.. it seemed like the heater was never working... what can i do?? i checked the radiator and its still full... any help??
thanks

if it sat that long, its most likely the thermostat.
