Default Car Will Not Go Past 4,000rpms

i have a 97 civic with a b18c1 stock with only a blox intake manifold and running a p30 ecu, i get it running after i just put the motor in, then go to drive it and it will not go past 4000 rpms. I thought it was the dizzy so i put a new one on and it is still doing the same thing. Also check if i have the map and the tpms sensor tos see if that was the problem and thats right and they are so now im stuck and i dont know what to do now.

Any other problems or is it running fine, even at 4k rpm? Does the rpm bounce at 4k or does it just not go higher? How is performance up to 4k?

Have you tried this ecu before? I also can't help but notice that you have 500+ hp #'s in your sig for a motor you say hasn't passed 4k rpm.

it idles fine but when you put it in first gear and give it gas, and sputters and it will not go past 4,000, and the cars is in time too.

If everything's working perfectly fine at idle, there is either an air/fuel restriction preventing enough flow at higher rpm's or the ecu isnt doing its job right. Check the TPS and MAPS output and make sure the voltage changes properly as the throttle opens. Next, check the fuel pressure.

Make sure the vacuum line is hooked up to the MAP sensor and there are no leaks. Also, measure the voltage to and from the MAP sensor, the ECU might be bad.

The MAP sensor voltage should tell you what kind of vacuum you are generating. Check it at idle and as you give it some gas. If it's low, look for leaks.

usually if the rev won't go above 3-4k, you're ecu is in limp mode. Do you have any other CELs?

make sure you dont have the map and tps sensor plugs on the wrong ones. but it definatly sounds like a tune issue

I've heard of when coils get weak, they usually won't let you rev past 3500... i'd try getting a coil and igniter ( or another dizzy ) to test it.

Ok, I found out the map sensor was grounding out, it was reading boost when it was at idle. Fixed the wires and now thats reading fine and hooked up my p72 s300 and every thing is running good but until you give it gas when your drivingit still wont go past 4,000rpms. Ive tried three ecu's and two dizzys and still does the same thing, when i down shift it goes past 4,000, and goes all the way to the redline. Any Advice

check for vaccuum leaks. make sure map is hooked up correctly.

at first sounded like ecu was in limp mode...but since you replaced the ecu with different ones....those were my only suggestions.
get it tuned possibly...?

best of luck

Have you jumped the service connector and then checked the ignition timing with a timing gun?

List of items i have done already
-re-wired the map sensor ( it was reading as it had boost at idle)
-tried three ecu's (p30, p72 s300, and a non vtec ecu and all do the same thing)
-two dizzys
-new fuel pump (old pump, the fuel strainer was broke off)
-installed odb 2 gsr injectors and clips
-made sure the tb and map plugs were cliped in and not switched( I already fliped the two to see if that might help, made it worse)
-only getting one check engine code (code 41 or 42, but it was the o2 sensor, diabled with hondata and still made no difference)

What the hell is wrong with my car?
