Intake recommendations
On my way to a show this past friday, I had the bypass on my AEM CAI snap in half, leaving the lower end of my intake dangling... so I took the filter off the dangling end and stuck it on the broke top half... Looking for some recommendations. Should I permanently turn it into a short ram (attach filter at cut end from bypass), buy a new/better intake system (not looking to spend huge amounts for a Mugen or whatever), or just get a new bypass for my CAI?
Sorry for the lame thread, but looking for the most cost effective and engine beneficial answer to my problem. Have gotten a lot of varying opinions from people. Thanks in advance!

Have you had any issues with sucking things in with a velocity stack? I don't drive in the rain or snow or any non-sunny weather... Any recommended velocity stack? I have seen Blox and all, but...

if your not driving in rain then there is no need for the by-pass, I love my comptech box and intake and would recommend it to anyone. It's pretty much the same thing as mugen but at around half the price.
I'm going with a short ram and velocity stack. Just going to put the stack and filter on the cut end of my AEM CAI for now, then maybe get a Samco Intake arm soon.
Sounds like a good choice. Best bang for the buck in my opinion.
If you really get creative you can build an enclosure for the filter
to combat heatsoak. I used a wastebasket like Endyn used on their
intake build article. It's definetely not show quality but it functions
great!
