SW PA - 1997 Civic HX - 1200 obo
1997 Honda Civic HX
Automatic Transmission
Air
Power Steering
Power Windows
Power Doors
Alloy Wheels
AM/FM Radio
176394 miles
My fiance just bought a new Fit and doesn't need this anymore. It makes a good daily driver and gets great gas mileage. The HX was Honda's most fuel efficient model. It has 3 stage VTEC which gives you 3 different cam profiles (1 for low RPM, 1 for High RPM, one for cruising (MPG)) The car does have some issues but should provide reliable transportation for someone for years to come.
The good:
Strong engine.
New brakes.
Newer tires.
AC recharged last year.
great gas mileage (this car will pay for itself quickly)
Still has HX wheels
The bad:
Transmission start clutch is worn - If you drive the car smoothly it isn't an issue. It does cause rough idle at times. Dealer estimate to fix is $800. Used CVT transmissions on ebay are $500. Or just swap a normal automatic and an ECU from a civic EX and sacrifice some gas mileage.
Needs new tail light seal - gets damp in trunk
Needs a new catback exhaust
Some rust on the edges of the quarter panels wheel wells
Passenger side power door lock doesn't work. Actuator is good. Could be electrical problem.
Miscellaneous nicks and dings.
Asking $1200 obo. I am willing to consider trades on other cars, trucks, or motorcycles.
Feel free to contact me @412-691-0169.
