Miller Dynasty 200SD - HF Start Quit working tonight
I was in the middle to welding some tubing and stopped to reposition. When I tried to start it again, nothing happened. I thought the tungsten was contaminated so I regound it and then pulled the torch apart to make sure everything was OK. It still wouldn't start to I pulled the torch Dinse connector apart and it was OK too.
I even uncoiled the torch and ground leads just in case but nothing helped.
It starts OK on Lift-Arc.
Has anyone else had this problem?

are there points/gaps on an inverter machine the same way there is on a transformer machine? Check your manual, maybe they need adjustment. Although if the machine is new I would be careful about opening it up, might interfere with the warranty. Where did you buy it from? If you got it from a local store, try calling them. If not, try calling miller, I'm sure they will stand behind their product.
Here's a link to your manual: http://millerwelds.com/om/o2226ag_mil.pdf . If you go here: http://millerwelds.com/service/locate_om.php you can put your serial number in as well and get the manual.
I would take it to a Miller service place, or call Miller and see what they say. I had a problem with the HF on my welder and they were very helpful and walked me through troubleshooting on the phone until I located the problem, and my welder is 30 years old. Miller gave some of the best customer service I have ever had despite the age of the machine and that I didn't buy it new (obviously). Luckily on the old transformer machines we can fix and replace parts pretty easily since it's very simple hardware, I don't know if you'll be able to service yours.

Hold the torch up in the air and press the foot pedal, do you hear a crackly type noise (almost like bacon sizzling on a frying pan?) If so its not your high freq. and we are having the same problem. At work we have a maxstar that has the same problem and it ended up being our board. Take it in for repairs if its under warrenty
there was a recall on the dynasty 200 models with the HF start board. take your machine to an authorized dealer or service center and they should take care of it.

I had a problem with my HF the dealer sent it out but never told me what excatly what it was....but was the same thing , lift arc OK. but no HF. Happened 2 months before my warrenty was up....got it back and it worked better than when it was new. They(Miller Forum) say not to ball up your tungsten on those either as they say you'll kill the HF board.
I just googled this actually and theres lots of topics i fopund this one(4th paragraph)

Thanks for the suggestions, guys.
I bought the welder second hand and will try the serial number lookup.
The foot control is a brand new SS Controls unit but I've tried with my thumb start with the same results.
I'll try the free air "sizzle" test tonight too.
