Default Can I use 95 OBD1 GSR Engine Harness on my 95 Civic DX?

Well I have a 95 Civic DX Hatch. And I want to do a 95 GSR Engine swap. But my question is it better to use a 94 95 GSR VTEC Engine Harness or one from a 92-95 Civic EX/Si? I heard that it will plug right up to the stock connectors and shock towers. Pretty much plug and play?

plug and play, the GS-R harness is nicer to use as it doesn't need to have any connectors cut and lengthened.

You want to use the engine harness of whatever engine your are swapping. You would not change that. You do have the choice to change the harness from the ECU to the shock tower with any 92 civic or 92-95 Ex/Si.

No its fine. The only real difference between the EX harness and the GSR harness is, the length of a few wires and the GSR harness is already wired for knock sensor and IABs. Its a very simple process to run those few extra wires.

what about the harness and wirings from the ECU to the shock towers? I know there will be a few wires missing in the shock tower that leads to the ECU. Do I need to change that as well? Since the GSR Engine harness is wired up for knock sensor, IAB, VTEC and the 95 Civic DX isnt equip with any of those and have no point of putting it in the shock towers.

Another question is if I were to change the shock tower to the ECU for a 92-95 Civic EX/Si. Why not just change the shock towers to 94-95 Integra GSR shock tower to ECU instead?
