i searched and cant find much on the topic. I got a type r header from my friend. Went to install it today and i could not get it between the block and cross member. Is there a trick or special way to make it work? I took out the radiator and fan and still not enough room to wiggle it in. Do i need to modify the cross member? Also the type r header is slightly shorter than my stock manifold do i need a custom test pipe to make it work?

Cut a lil piece off the cross member to make it fit.

My motor is mounted to the crossmember. Would cutting some out weaken it to much to support it?

 

I wouldn't go hacking away at everything just to make it fit. If anything you can get it cut out but get a support piece welded in to box in the area that was cut to keep it's strength.
