Default PVC 2000 Civic DC - Conflicting Information

So, like a responsible adult, I lost my manual. The mechanic tried to charge me $40 to get this changed out. I knew it's not that expensive nor does it take that long to switch things out.

HOWEVER - I am pretty casual whenever it comes to car repair - if it takes a long period of time, I'd rather someone else do it.

I thought I could do this on my own though. I have been searching to find any advice about the location of this valve - some sites say that it's accessible while looking into the engine, other say you have to jack it up and go underneath.

I know it's pretty easy to change out - unplug the bottom of the old valve from the grommett, unhook the hose from the old valve - put hose on new valve, use a flat head to help put the new valve into the grommet.

What's your advice, oh wise Honda gurus?

You mean the PCV?

It's best to change when you change your oil, if anything is wrong with it to begin with.

You're "supposed" to inspect it every 60 months/60,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Here's why it's easiest to change during an oil change. It's above the oil filter itself. While it's off is the best time to check the PCV.

You'll want to pry it out with the flat head screwdriver BEFORE using needlenose pliers to loosen the clamp. Once it's out, get out from under the vehicle and pull the hose through. Examine, then either clean or replace.

Sorry, I meant PCV and not the piping. Sorry about that.

Yeah I clicked wondering what kind of intercooler/intake piping or roll cage you were constructing.

LOL. That's awesome, but a little out of my realm of possibilities.

Maybe I should wait until the hangover's completely gone before attempting this?

While you wait for yours to dissolve, I'm going to begin creating one for myself.
