Default My H23vtec

So i bought this car with a JDM h22a and babied it for a year because the bearings were goin out. Got some cash built up and grabbed some parts in the meantime. Picked up the h23a about a month ago at JEI in doraville GA. Took it up to mainstream and had the exhaust made to fit my RMF replica and had it tuned by scotty(who is a genius BTW).

Here are some pics...made 185whp 155tq on BONE STOCK internals with the h22a intake mani and TB, garbage intake, stg2 CC, 2.5" custom exhaust all the way back to an N1(real)

Chrome gold...should have had better numbers but the person that did the exhaust forgot to put the tensioner back on the alternator so the voltage was a little crazy. Heres a link to the dyno....

so does the h23a pull A LOT harder than the h22a or is it just a little bit of a difference? I thought about getting one, just havn't seen anyone with one of them yet.

my h22 was on the outs so i only felt full power for like the first 2 months i had it. but this motor is retarded after 3800-4000 rpms. Pulls way harder up top and with the h22 tranny its nice and drawn out. Also now i really only have 7k rpms instead of 8200. im definately happy with it!

Man, I am wanting to put an H in my Del Sol, I was going to go with an H22a because I havn't seen an H23a in anything yet, and they had one at Best Japanese Engines I was going to buy but just didn't know anything about them yet. I know what I'm getting next tax season . 92eg h22... we'll have to hang out one night when I ride to Gwinnett... alot of ppl still hanging out down there?

DO IT..i only now of one other person that has this setup and its in an accord with S2St2 cams and euro-r IM....makin like 220whp :O its the exact same thing as an h22a(they use the same castings for the head and the block). h23a comes with the h23 crank, flat top pistons, larger throttle body, and a factory port. OBD2 sucks tho. we just used the h22a IM and TB and Vtec solenoid to keep it all OBD1

yeah gwinnett is making a comeback with its Sonic meets, never been, but i hear they have like 100+ cars. Thursday nights off riverside dr. on 316. now that my car is back together i may ride out with a few H2b friends. let me know if you do come out and we can definately chill and get u some opinions from a bunch of cool H guys.

H22's are my favorite engine. waay better than any GSR, LS, b16, K20, and a poor mans GSR, the LS V-Tec. My friend has one and that thing is powerful. his is a JDM H22a in a 93 luda and if it pulls that heavy body that fast is must be a strong motor.

yeah

theyre pretty fun

OP watch out for that motor. Our H series come with something from the factory called the "reliability fairy" once you take an H series apart, the fairy escapes.
