im sure the b16a blown will make descent power and be pretty reliable if you do the right things to it.

but.
starting with a b18c1 or a b18c5 will give you good numbers and they both have the ability to get better as you continue to mod them or even throw a supercharger on there.

and its always easier to manage a car w/o forced induction...less things to worry check up on/worry about breaking. going n/a, if thats what you plan to with the teg motors will be easier.

im not sure bout the legality of them in cali though...ttt

As far as legality the vortech still does not pass CARB so it will fail the visual. I would get either a B16 ro GSR motor and get a greddy turbo kit (why) you get the CARB certificate and you can up the boost and tune it and when it comes to smogg check you just turn off your VAFC and turn the boost down to Greddy legal specs and wala best of both worlds. I have seen a greddy kit make 265 WHP on a B16 with tuning and some more boost

is saving the extra 1000-1500 in gettin a b16a over a b18c1 worth it....

if i were to go with the greddy turbo kit?

since legality is an issue, i figure you plan on going with a usdm swap?

if so, add the couple hundred more and get a b18c1, that extra trq is nice.

from there, N/A becomes easier, and F/I gets more serious

good luck.
