Default To catback or not to catback

Well i'm looking to upgrade my exhaust, but can't make up my mind on which one? (HKS, Apexi ect). Any suggestions? I have on my EG6, AEM CAI, DC sport 4-2-1 header. ALso upgraded the D15b7 non vtec ECU to a Spoon one.

I love the Apexi World Sport 2. It's quiet and they have a nice tone.

How did you upgrade to a Spoon ECU? ...there isn't one for the D15B7.

Don't tell me you bought a "Spoon" chip on eBay.

Vibrant Flat Black is what I am moving to from the N1...N1 blows for anything but in town driving. I have heard many things about the WS2 and most good but for the money and keepin' it low key I'm going with my choice.

It's only loud in the upper RPMs. Then again, most exhausts are. It sounds good that way anyway, IMO.

My N1 is nice and quiet, except when I'm in boost.. nor is it raspy, and, it doesn't sound like a fart can...

WS2 gets my vote too. Great tone, nice and low. I would pick up the Noir version tho. IMO the WS2 muffler is too flashy and the tip is too big. Sticks out loud on my black hatch.

Well, I got it down to the 2 catback system I want. 1-Apexi N1 catback (60mm piping, 115mm tip) or 2-HKS HI power catback (55mm piping, 96mm tip). Feed backs please.

x 1,000,000 for the WS2. I picked it up for 395 shipped in the stainless finish. Great tone. Nice and deep and isn't loud until you want it to be. It's extremely well made and high quality. The entire exhaust has a coating on it to prevent it from developing surface rust and it fits perfectly. Also, it comes with all your gaskets and new hardware too. IMO it's the PERFECT DD exhaust.

Yea, both of those are essentially road race exhausts.

Yea everyone saying the WS2 but that **** looks wack. The muffler part looks almost stock and it looks huge. I want something like the N1 or HKS style (canister JDM look). Are those really that loud, even with the silencer? More feedback's please.

How is that "JDM look"?

Yea, they're really loud. When you put the silencer on they get quieter by a little bit but they get 10X raspier.

The N1 sounds ok but the HKS sounds farty and ricey... Seriously the WS2 is where its at... If you are so bent on having a fart can at the expense of tone just have a muffler shop weld some cheap canister muffler on...

No kidding. If you want the farty look, farty sound is what you get. There's a reason the WS2's muffler is big like that. It was made to look like the stock exhaust, just with a nicer tip to it. Also, that muffler is actually chambered whereas your fart can is not, and that's the reason it sounds so raspy and farty.

Also, the canister muffler look is by far not "JDM."
