What exactly makes the 92-00 the favorite among most Honda folks? Seems like every carshow and track event has more 92-00 Civics than any other Civic generation....
It's common becuase most of the parts are interchangeable from the Integra. Parts are readily available and relatively cheap. It doesn't necessarily make it the best.
92-95 already obd1, easiest to tune, easly swappable, lightweight, parts are readily available 96-00 idk i own one and its never easy for ne thing i do lol except the 99 si comes stock with the b16

5th gen is best less bs to deal with and cheap and abundant parts too and they look good
6th gens arent too bad i just dont like all the extra wiring crap that they have on them
not to mention what the guy said above about the suspension since they went to those crappy mcpherson struts in 01

Best beacuse:
- light weight, more so all the newer gens
- easy to tune, and run or convert to OBDI
- engine swap options are plenty
- chassis is more of a raw driving feeling, FUN!
- they look good
- suspension is top notch in design for what it is
- endless parts options
- cross over from Integra parts
- affordable

Nice to see somebody knows the real reason.
When I bought mine Aug 28th of 92 that fact along with 4 wheel disc brakes, made it an easy choice. I also enjoyed the 141,000+miles in my 1982 Civic FE.
I wasn't to crazy about the shape of the rear end but I got used to it.

Simple, reliable and very well organized electrical systems. Probably my most loved thing about these cars.
That and mechanically speaking they are easy to work on for the most part.

I think the weight is a huge thing for me, try to find a stock 2094 lbs car these days and its next to impossible unless you wanna spend crap loads, and a 92 CX is like $1500-$2500. So much potential right off the bat, oh and Honda's lego parts is nice too.
i think its because you can drive them FOREVER , they are comfy to drive ( i drive alot, i used to have a stupidcharged crapalier, hit bump head hit ceiling, seats where garbage) and they look sporty even in there stock form.
