gsr is a direct swap while Ls/v is not. Some will argue that the simplicity of a putting in a gsr compared to making an ls/v would make it more reliable while others will just shout "BUILD IT RIGHT JUST BUILD IT RIGHT." How does this help you? It doesnt, but that doesnt stop pointless argument flame war answers from straying from the point and not helping you whatsoever. i see a lot of that happen.
Yeah, depending on what you plan on doing with it. LS Vtec if made yourself allows you to go ahead and rebuild your internals from Stock to High Preform.
opposed to GSR you still have to break it down and you'll end up spending more on this

pros... ls vtec has more torque then a stock gsr
its different
thats al I can think of right ast
cons....
no girdle unless u install one
gotta run your on oil line
gotta buy a few things extra blah blah blah
I have ad a few ls v setups and I like them. you can build a lsv for as much as u can buy a gsr.

you can use any b series vtec head on a ls block to make ls/v i think everyone knows that im not an idiot. but depending on what he wants na or boost theres a ton of different heads he can use
true, like your engine it just has the ls crank am i correct? but honestly i never liked ls/v id rather start with something bare and build up. but have the ls crank makes for a longer stroke? i had no idea thats some good info if you ask me haha
incorrect, the b16 and type r are similar the gsr has a different combustion chamber providing a small bump in compression. (quenched)
kinda sorta. It started as a gsr block then sleeved to 84 mm with cp slugs and manley ls rods with a scat ls crank. ls has a 89 mm stroke which i believe is the longest of all the b series.
So if i had an ls crank with ctr pistons, that would give more hp than the standard b17 crank. Or would it hit the head since the stroke is longer and ctr pistons have bit of a nose to them you think it would hit the head? or would a triple layer head gasket fix that
For my LS vtec build what im getting is internals mostly stock Gsr Head more compression, SiR SHORT gears and b18b basicly grabbing a golden eagle vtec conversation kit and a p28 Chipping ecu Hollla
