Default Build info: Honda Challenge H2 rule clarification

I've decided to turn my autocross civic into an H2 car as i've been autocrossing my M3 more. aside from a cage, it currently meets all the H2 rules.

Based on the H2 class engine chart, a B20 engine is simply listed as B20 (not b20b, b20z like the B18 vtec motors are broken out by)

Based on this, does this mean that you can legally use the Higher compression PHK pistons in a B20 that came with the lower compression pistons? my take on that is any b20 parts could interchange, because the result would still be a "b20"engine. where upgrading a B18c1 to B18c5 internals would class the engine as an B18c5, and the B18c5 is listed seperately.
just want to clarify before i change anything?

thanks
KUNI

Kuni,
Actually, your thinking on the B20 is correct. You can use the pistons from the Z in any B20.
Your thinking on the B18c1 is incorrect though.
You can't legally use C5 parts in a C1 and call it a C5.
You CAN use C5 parts in a B18c (jdm) because there is no way to tell the difference between the B18c r model and GSR model bottom end.
The rules also state as an example of something you can't do the C5 parts in the C1 bottom end.

okie doke. thanks for the clarification.

The max 7" wheel width is kind of dumb in my opinion for H2, when you aren't limited to 225mm width. Toyo makes s 235/50/15 R888

None of the classes were limited to 225 until this year.

Have you actually seen how huge the 235.50.15 is? Your car has to look like a 4x4 to fit them.

i haven't seen them in person.
i run kumho v710 225/50/15 for autocross. so they shouldn't be too much larger diameter.

if they are that huge, then i guess it will be 225/45/15

I'm with ya on the wheel width rule.. I wish I could use a 8" wheel, on my heavy ***, tire eating H22 prelude (highest min wt car in H2). I'm also one of those crazy guys who thinks H1 and H2 should have the same chassis prep. rules, with only the engine rules being different.

Good luck with the build!!!
We need more H2 cars on the east side.

It's smaller than the 235/40R17 others runs...

Ask Brian and Bob what they think of the 235.50.15 R888, they bought them and have fitment issues.

I did not say they didn't fitment issues, I simply said they were smaller than the 235/40R17's that others run.

here is a pic on how the car look with 235/50/15. I've been running 225/45/15 and will try for the first time the 235 this weekend at willow.

I'm with you on the wheel width rule.

However, the highest min. weight car in H2 is my TSX at 2800 lbs.
