88 hf crx rpm guage wont work
I finshed with my build but I cant get the RPM guage to work and since then I have installed 2 different dash harness and a different guage cluster from a 88 crx...but I cant get the RPM guage to work...i did go out and buy a little cheapo tach and I spliced it into the blue wire of the guage cluster and it works just fine but still no rpm's on my guage cluster. I could really use any and all help on this please!!!

Are you sure you have a working tachometer? It's possible that the gauge itself is not working.
You said you can get an aftermarket gauge to work, from the blue wire... so the signal should be getting to the factory tach, so either there is no power to the tach, a bad ground, or the tach itself is broken.

power...where does that come from(which fuse or power source)...also when I swap in my gsr cluster the tach works up until 5k then it bounces around
Yes it will! And as far as I can tell, all the ignitors are interchangeable, at least electronically... I've had to "modify" a few to get them to fit back into the distributor.
Ok so I changed the ignitor and the oem guage cluster now works but when you rev it to 5k or above the rpm guage goes crazy and just bounces around. I redid my ground for the battery but still no luck...anymore ideas now?
could it be noise from my supercharger?? i am running a b20 with a stepper pulley and a 3.0 nose pulley...other the the ignitor could it be anything else?
Some kind if electronic interference perhaps? The tach gets its signal from the ignitor, if that's breaking up, its either a bad connection, interference, or a ignitor going south.
of what the supercharger or the guage cluster?

Ok I'm selling this to fund my new turbo S2000 project. I built the whole car...Motor and Chassis the motor and supercharger was installed and tuned by Secret Services and it made 186hp and 167tq at 9psi. I know I’m forgetting stuff so I will post it when I remember and I will include it in a few.
There is nothing wrong with this car (Motor and Suspension) but the interior and exterior needs a little work (dash, guage cluster, and driver window) the car has no ac but I have all the ac parts and also the Innovative mount ac bracket to reuse the stock d-series compressor.

guys I still need some help with with...I tried 3 guage clusters and a standalone tach and 5 used ignitors from 5 known good dizzy's. This is a 99-00 b20 (obd2b i think). I wired up a el creapo tach and it works no problem. Also swapped out the rotor cap and coil. I have a obd 0 to obd1 ecu jumper harness and then the shop cut the dizzy plug off the b20's engine harness and spliced the dizzy plug onto crx engine harness
Anymore ideas? Also could someone point me in the direction for a wire diagram to convert my 88 hf crx to a 99-00 b20...just the dizzy part.
Is this right?? It's a quote from another forum.
Well you state that you have the obd0 to obd1 conversion harness who is that through? go to their website they will tell you in their instructions what wires are for what. But according to boomslang...
